siobhan hargrave was born in cork, ireland in 1920. her mother, maud torrence, kept her relatively safe for her early life despite maud's present job as a ghoul for one, fitzwilliam hargrave, the prince of cork at the time.siobhan was a rebellious youth, and often, she would find herself chastised by the man she called her father, though he was no such thing.fitzwilliam, despite the masquerade, brought siobhan to many vampiric functions; her first elysium was when she was only seven, sitting tall on the senschal's, vasiliev's, back.after a foolish scheme to run away with a boy from town, siobhan was ghouled at the age of sixteen, her blood and the blood of her young lover pooling around her.
after being ghouled, siobhan's life got even worse. her father took it upon himself to act violently on her, though her mother still took the brunt of the abuse.some time during world war ii, an enemy kindred attempted to kill fitzwilliam in his daysleep. maud gave her life for her domitor and died in the process. she allegedly begged for a life boon from the prince — that he embrace her daughter and protect her from harm.fitz did this in 1948 on christmas. he embraced siobhan into clan ventrue, and she died in chains.she was given some freedom until 1975 when cyrus royce, a toreador who fancied siobhan, attempted to steal her away from her father. he failed, and the leash tightened.
by 1985, siobhan could not leave the haven and fitzwilliam's estate entirely; she was restricted to the grounds. ten years later, though, this gave her ample opportunity to scoop up a young girl whose mother and father were dying from a car accident a few roads over. the girl, marion, had walked to the estate for help of any kind, but she met siobhan. and to prevent fitz from killing the child, siobhan took her under her care, ghouling her when she was old enough.this would turn out to be fitzwilliam's downfall. though, he was not quite at rock bottom yet.he stepped down as prince in 2005 much to the shock of his court, and vasiliev took over. in an act of betrayal, vasiliev gave fitzwilliam leave to stake siobhan in elysium and imprison her for a decade.
when she was finally set free, she immediately set to escaping with marion. while he was in his daysleep, marion staked the kindred, leaving siobhan ample time to run away to america where she began to search for a save haven to stay.she found new york... then, milwaukee... then, finally chicago, and she's been there ever since.she released marion from her ghouled state, and in the meantime, picked up another stray to take care of, a young teenager named simon who had turned to a life of drugs and crime. she keeps her small family as safe as she can.but the more she embraces her vampiric side, the more she loses her humanity. killing her father is all that matters. If she comes out less than human?
